10 weeks of lockdown....it feels like it's ever ending!
Saturday 30th May
After last weeks local socially distanced walk, me and ky friend Nay decided to walk up to Mow Cop Castle, which is a local landmark on the border between the counties of Cheshire and Staffirdshire.
So I started off by walking to Nays house, so that we could walk from her house up the way to Mow Cop.
It was a really enjoyable walk, even though I probably annoyed Nay by having multiple breaks to get my breath! 🙈
Then we got to this point which was a relief for me!
Then we finally made it to Mow Cop!
The one thing about this walk is the views we can across, in the above picture I was able to see all the way across to the telescope Jodrell Bank.
When I got home, I did a small quiz with my sister and Nay as Natalie wanted to try out some of the quizzes she had bought. It was a lovely way to end a busy Saturday.
Sunday 31st May
Sunday was another quiet day which I spent reading Escaping from Houdini and just being chilled.
Monday 1st June
I had an awful nights sleep, I kept waking up and i dont know whether it was part of my dream, but I felt someone grab my hair and pull my head back...but obviously theres no one there, so that freaked me out a bit waking up.
Monday hasn't been the best and it all stems from my step dad. As I overheard him shouting at my mum who was having technical issues which somehow meant he had to have a go at me, even though I'm nowhere near him, or I've even done anything, but he always seems to have to find some way of having a go at me. And apparently all I do is 'f**king sit up there and do 'f**k all'.
I dont think he realises I'd much rather be at work and keeping busy, but what am I meant to do? There is nothing to do!
I cant wait to return to work as then I'd barely be at home!
Later on in the day, my sister text me to say that she was going across to my nanas with the kids and did I want to join. So at about 3ish I went to nanas and had a socially distanced tea with my sister and the kids and Barlow, who loved seeing my sister, apart from my mum, natalie is one of his favourite people!
I then came home and continued to read Escaping from Houdini.
Tuesday 2nd June
I spent most of my Tuesday sat in my nanas garden as shes having issues with her neighbour, who keeps encroaching on to her side of the garden and my mum wanted me to stay with her till someone from her housing association came to take photos.
I spent my time continuing on with some painting and reading.
By the time if come home I finally managed to finish off Escaping from Houdini and whilst I was on a role, I've decided to start Capturing the Devil straight away, incase I lose momentum!
In the evening i decided to start watching the 100 from the beginning, so that I can be ready for when the final season starts in the UK whenever that will be.
Wednesday 3rd June
Earlier on in the week myself and some friends from work decided to have a socially distanced picnic on thursday, and I decided to make some cookies and sausage rolls so I took a trip to Tesco to get some baking supplies.
When I came back I decided to take some photos for bookstagram, so that I could have a couple of weeks worth, including uploading photos for my May Wrap Up and June TBR and getting that blog post uploaded.
Whilst I was taking my photos I continued watching the 100 in the background, which is still such a good show!
When 5 o'clock hit I went downstairs and started my baking for the picnic. I decided to make some Maple Spice chocolate chip cookies, and they were so so good!
Thursday 4th June
Due to the weather change....cold and wet, we decided to put our picnic on hold. None of us deal well with the cold weather, me especially as I still wear jumpers and cardigans at the height of summer!
So I decided to go and take some of the left over cookies to my sister so that I could see her and the kids, even if it was just a doorstep chat for 5 minutes.
When I got back I continued watching Jamestown and then I decided to start watching the Dresden Files.
Friday 5th June
Early friday morning I nipped to the local farm and got the meat that my nana wanted.
When I came back I read some more of Caprtuing the Devil, which I am really enjoying and this is also the quickest I've been reading one of the books from this series.
Once I'd read a bit I decided to look into doing some courses, and I was able to sign up for an online HR management course, to keep me occupied and also to add something extra to my CV for when Lockdown and Furlough is over.
So that concludes my 10th week of lockdown, how have you spent this week?
I hope you're all keeping safe.
Vanessa
