Week 2 of Lockdown

Saturday 4th April
The second week of my began on the 4th April.
I spent Saturday doing my usual sunday chores, washing and putting away clothes and washing bedding etc.
Whilst doing this I introduced myself to the Tiger King on Netflix and watched 3 episodes of the documentary.
I then spent the remainder of the evening reading one of the books from my April TBR: Warrior of the Wild, the first book I've picked up in a week!

Sunday 5th April
I spent Sunday primarily laying on my bed. I spent most of the morning writing up last weeks lockdown blog post and then spent the remainder of the afternoon doing some more painting from my Canada colouring book. This time I did Peggy Cove in Nova Scotia, I really like how this one came out! I'm really beginning to enjoy the painting!
I spent a good 20 minutes speaking to my sister on the phone in the afternoon and listening to her tea time anecdotes!
I then spent the remainder of the evening continuing to read Warrior of the Wild.

Monday 6th April
Monday was a bit of lazy tv watching day! I spent most of the day in the living room watching Jack Whitehall's Travels With My Father. Once I'd caught up on that I spent the remainder of the day playing with Barlow, the family shipoo.

Tuesday 7th April
Tuesday was the first day that I left the house, in more ways than one.
As my mum is classed as a key worker and my dad works from home and we needed some shopping I offered to go to the local co-op to get what we needed. This was the first time that I'd ventured into a shop in about 2/3 weeks!
The one thing that has turned this week round so far is the weather! Its has been so sunny that once I'd been and got the shopping, I was able to take Warrior of the Wild, my music and sit in the garden. Due to the weather change, this also meant that this was the first time I'd left either my bedroom/living room!
Whilst sitting in the garden I had some company from Barlow he kept me company by either sitting on my feet or sitting on my lap!
I was able to finish Warrior of the Wild that afternoon, and it is one of my favourite of the year so far!
I also started my next book: The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller.

Wednesday 8th April
Wednesday was another mis match day. I spent the morning watching Tiger King and updating my Goodreads yearly reading challenge (I only updated one book in January and I'm now 30 books in!).
As the weather has been lovely I decided to spend the afternoon in the garden again with Barlow continuing my read of the Shadows Between Us.
I then spent the remainder of the evening watching the last of the Tiger King and started to watch Unforgotten on Netflix. I'm a big sucker for crime dramas!

Thursday 9th April
Thursday was a hard day. I spent the morning reading and then my sister dropped off my niece and nephew for a couple of hours.
I know it's not what you're supposed to do, but these were mitigating circumstances. My brother in laws father passed away in March and they were only able to get the funeral arranged for this particular thursday and due to the guest limit allowed at funerals it meant there was no one to look after my niece and nephew.
So we made sure to keep to social distancing, they brought their own drinks, and they were able to keep themselves occupied by playing in the garden with Barlow (thank goodness it was a nice day) and watching the tv in the conservatory.
The hardest part of having them over was being unable to give them and my sister  cuddles when she came to pick them up!
Once they left, the house felt really quiet, the dog was passed out, the kids had tired him out due to running round the garden with him!
I then spent the remainder of the day watching Unforgotten. It's a really good tv show with a pretty good cast in it.

Friday 10th April
Good Friday was spent in the garden with my mum, having fun with snapchat
And playing a new game I've found on the play store: BlockuDoku
You essentially have put the blocks into the square and if a line, vertical or horizontal or  block is filled it disappears and you get points. It is very addictive!
I then read a little more and watched some more Unforgotten which I finished late in the evening.

So that's week 2 of lockdown over and done with. The days are starting to get a bit repetitive, but logging what I'm doing is helping me to keep that little extra bit of sanity!
I hope you're all keeping well and any recommendations of other things to keep me sane are much appreciated!

Vanessa 😊
