Saturday 28th March
So the first day of lockdown for me was Saturday 28th March. I normally spend my Saturdays either taking my nana shopping or doing something with friends/family. So I decided to spend my time reading one of my Mills and Boon novels (the only books through March that captured my attention), colouring in my 150 page Canada colouring book that my friend Joe got for me at Christmasand eating home made pastries (my mum made cheese and bacon pin wheels - So yummy!). All of this whilst having cuddles from Barlow, the family Shipoo
I ended up finishing the day off by catching up on Riverdale, I hadn't caught up since Christmas, so I had a few to watch!
Sunday 29th March
Sunday is my normal chores day and probably one of the most boring days that I have generally, not just on lockdown! So Sunday consisted of me washing and putting away clothes, but I also re-organised my wardrobe at the same time. Whilst doing this, I also jumped on the bandwagon and downloaded Disney+ and spent the day watching Lizzie Maguire, like I used to do in Primary and Secondary school, as I was and still am a very big Hilary Duff fan!
Monday 30th March
Monday was a busy day! I decided to take all of the books I have on my bookshelf, the overflow books I have in my wardrobe and the new books that I'd bought that were staked up and re-organised them. I'm very particular when it comes to the organisation of my bookshelf, I know there are people out there that just do it alphabetically, but I am not one of them. I have to try and arrange my books in height order and then alphabetically whilst in that height range and I can't mix the hardbacks and the paperbacks either! I ended up putting books that I wasn't sure I would read or had read onto my wardrobe shelf.
Whilst all of this organising was happening I completed my Lizzie Maguire marathon by watching the Lizzie Maguire Movie, and even though its been years since I last watched it, its made me realise how much I actually liked that film!
I then watched all 4 episodes in the North and South Mini series with Richard Armitage and Daniela Denby-Ashe based on the book by Elizabeth Gaskell. This is one of my favourite adaptations that I can watch and re-watch again and again.
Monday was also the day that our self-isolation started, my mum had developed a cough and had been sent home from work, so the whole house is on isolation lockdown!
Tuesday 31st March
Tuesday was another day of re-organisation. In my room I have 3 storage boxes that I use for bookmark, prints, pins, make up and jewellery stored. I went through each individual storage box, and moved certain items from one box and placed them in another box and went through all the items to see what I wanted to keep what I didn't want to keep and just generally re-organising the boxes.
I don't know what it is about organising anything, but I have to have something on in the background, whether that is the TV or music, it's like it keeps me company!
So Tuesday's watch-athon consisted on 3 films, the first being Made in Dagenham, such a good film I would definitely recommend, its definitely a film I can re-watch and Sally Hawkins is a brilliant actress.
The second film I put on was Five Feet Apart, quite appropriate for the time in which we're currently living - whilst the story line focuses on young adults who have Cystic Fibrosis, the two main characters aren't allowed within 6 feet of each other due to the infections that they can catch from each other, something we as country/world should really take note of to try and combat the spread of Covid-19.
The final film I watched was Funny Cow, a film about a northern woman trying to make it as a comedian in a largely male occupation. I wasn't a huge fan of the film, but Maxine Peake is brilliant as the title character.
Wednesday 1st April
I was due to go and do some shopping for my nana today, but due to being on isolation, I had to ask my sister to do the shopping for us.
After pretty much full days of re-organising I decided that Wednesday would be a more chilled out day. I spent most of the day trying to take photos for this blog and my Bookstagram, but after taking 2/3 photos I got fed up and had no inspiration to do any of it. So I decided to put that on the back burner until next week.
So I spent the rest of the day watching the Derry Girls, a brilliant show if you haven't see it you must it is hilarious, I then popped on the first episode of Batwoman, I was very excited about this, as it should mean that the Arrow-verse Crisis on Infinite Earths should soon be shown!
I then discovered another new show, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. I wasn't too sure about this show at first, but after the first episode it grows on you!
My favourite part of Wednesday was when my sister dropped off our shopping and I got to speak to her from my room whilst she was in the garden.
Thursday 2nd April
At this point of the week, I'm already over lockdown, isolation and would even welcome going back to work or even working from home just something to focus my mind on! It was at this point that I though I should finally make a start and make this blog live!
Thursday was a day I spent in bed feeling sorry for myself, but incredibly happy that I had made this blog live earlier in the morning I also happened across the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths episodes, so I spent the day watching that and crying through all the episodes as it just meant one more episode till the end of Arrow, and I'm just not ready for it!
Friday 3rd April
By Friday I've been thinking how am I supposed to survive being on lockdown/temporary leave for a potential 12 weeks, as much as I complain about getting up in morning, (I haven't slept past half 7 every morning so far, I may not have moved from my room, but I haven't been able to sleep longer) or complain that I need a holiday, going to work keeps my mind occupied and I really don't know how I'm going to cope.
Friday was a day in which I decided I needed to do something creative as I haven't read any books this week, I barely have the concentration to read a paragraph let alone more and needed to do something to get me out of my little self pity funk.
When I was re-organising earlier in the week I had found some watercolours and paint brushes that I had years ago, so I decided to set myself up and do some painting with the Canadian colouring book, sitting and deciding which colours need to go where and thinking about the correct colours to use, really helped me in getting out of my head and reminding myself that there are people out there in a worse off position than I am and that by staying indoors and painting I'm helping the NHS.
So there you have it, my week 1 of lockdown and isolation. I hoped you enjoyed my ramblings please feel free to give me recommendations for keeping occupied and not going crazy.
I hope you're all staying safe!
